The Game

Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Job 38:4
Following the death of our second child, I was not angry with God. Years prior, He had lifted me from a twenty-year-long bottomless pit of an unbeliever. He had given us our first child safely and healthy; the loss of our third child left me nearly broken. In my sorrow, I occasionally escaped into different activities, one of which was mindlessly blowing up mountains in Minecraft, a game introduced by my young nieces. I eventually came to a moment of clarity, and the main temple of the game rests upon the base of one of the mountains previously leveled.

This game was created on a mobile phone, spanning three years and thousands of hours. I learned how to code late in developing the game. A large majority of the game was done brick by brick. During this time, I listened to sermons, worship music, and biblical lectures, which allowed me to lean on God and His Word.

I offer this game to others for their use. I suggest taking a week for each verse in the game and reflecting on how His Word has impacted your life or how it might change your heart.

The expanded goal of the game is to collect testimonies and add them to the library at the game's end.
Download the current game file or the Minecraft .MCWORLD file hereYou will already need to own a copy of Minecraft. The texture pack used in the above video is sold by Real Source and played on an Nvidia 4070 TI.

Pending copyright approval from several studios, I have omitted the music accompanying the above playthrough. Because of this, I have made the list of music in order of appearance, and all music plays for the song's full length. As of 2024, all songs are available on iTunes.  Word - PDF

Matthew 7:13-_ _

8. “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Luke 15:4-_

9. “If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit”

 Matthew 15: _ _

10. “Then Peter came to Jesus and asked Lord many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered, I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt At this the servant fell on his knees before him Be patient with me, he begged, and I will pay back everything The servant’s master took pity on him canceled the debt and let him go But when that servant went out, he found one of his  fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins He grabbed him and began to choke him Pay back what you owe me! he demanded. His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him Be patient with me, and I will pay it back But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. When the other servants saw what had happened they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened. Then the master called the servant in. You wicked servant, he said, I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you? In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart”

Matthew 18:21- _ _

11. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church

Eph 5 - _ _

12. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:3 - _ _

15. “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

Luke 16: _ _

16. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another”

John 13:34- _ _

17. “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

21. “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

Matthew 3: _ _

22. “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister, will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell. “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift. “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.

Matthew 5:21- _ _

23. “Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 4:13- _ _

24. “On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. Teacher, he asked, what must I do to inherit eternal life? What is written in the Law? he replied. How do you read it? He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. You have answered correctly, Jesus replied. Do this and you will live. But he wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, And who is my neighbor? In reply Jesus said: A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have. Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers? The expert in the law replied, The one who had mercy on him. Jesus told him, Go and do likewise”

Luke 10:25- _ _

After collecting the missing numbers from the 24 verses, add the missing numbers together.

_ _ _

Add a 3 to that number _ _ _ + 3 = _ _ _

Multiply that number by 12 _ _ _ x 12 = _ _ _ _

Add 20 to that number _ _ _ _ + 20 = _ _ _ _

Subtract 7 from that number _ _ _ _ - 7 = _ _ _ _

This will give you the combination that opens the first door

Other Scripture in the Game

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the

Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

John 14:27

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,  I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. ”

I have included all the scripture above, as well as a video playthrough of the entire game.
